Halloween events were rescheduled by the Governor for today, but in many places here at the Jersey Shore, it's still not safe for kids to be out trick or treating.

A few clever moms have found a way to keep the spirit of Halloween alive.

Trunk-or-treating involves decorating the trunk of your car, filling it with candy, and gathering with other similarly tricked out trunks in a parking lot.

The kids can go trunk to trunk, get their sugar high, and stay safe.

I absolutely love this idea.

Tina in Ocean called and said they'll be at the West Park Pool Club/Rec Center, across from Ocean Township High School on West Park Ave. in Oakhurst from 3:30 to 6 p.m. today.

Amber in Howell is also hosting one at Seasons Coal Fired Bistro at 2200 Rt 9 South in Howell from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Anyone in the area of either event is encouraged to stop by with their kids if their neighborhoods are still unsafe for the kids. If your block, or your neighborhood is still without power, it's safe to say that it's not a good idea for the kids to be out walking around in the dark.

In addition, Ocean County Mall has trick-or-treating in their stores today until 6 p.m, while Monmouth Mall has trick-or-treating from 3 to 5 p.m.
