Man oh man.....2020 is the year that just won't end.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has turned this year upside down and left a lot of us in quarantine, without a job or fighting for our lives against the coronavirus.

There are so many people who have remained on our front lines fighting throughout this entire thing and now, it is time to show them the recognition that they deserve.

Over the past few days, you have been sending in your nominations for 2020 MVP Awards - Nurses and now it is time to cast your vote on who you think should win.

Let's take a look at all of the nominees:

Nicole, Cardiac Surgical ICU Nurse at Jersey Shore Medical Center (Neptune)

She is one of the most self-less, kind, comforting, inspirational and brave people I know.  She has touched so many people and her courage and determination has helped so many of her patients, family and friends through this difficult time.  This is a special tribute since she got engaged in April 2020, attends Monmouth College full-time to earn her Nurse Practitioner Degree and finds special time to comfort both her Covid and critically ill patients.  She recently tested positive for Covid resulting from her services. She stands strong and is doing well today.  This recognition is well deserved and she is my MVP nurse of the Jersey Shore.  Birthday wishes to my sweet daughter on December 23rd!!!

Lyndsay Deluca, Nurse, Jersey Shore University Medical Center (Neptune)

I nominate my best friend Lyndsay who grew up in Manasquan and graduated in 2003. She graduated from Brookdale Community College Nursing Program. Lyndsay recently graduated from Chaberlain University, College of Nursing, while working to finish her clinical hours. As a single mom, working to provide for herself & daughter she has worked through out the pandemic on the frontlines. She has been working so hard & deserves so much. Recently she mentioned saving for engraving her fathers headstone at St. Catherine’s Cemetery. As recent as this evening, a deer jumped in front of her car causing expensive damage to her vehicle. Thankfully she & her daughter were ok, the car not so much. With only a few days before the holidays a Christmas miracle would be to bring some light to this strong, beautiful soul. Thank you for always recognizing all our nurses!

Kimberly Brown, Pediatric ICU Nurse

I would like to nominate Pediatric ICU nurse Kimberly Brown. She was with me when I received my Stage 3 NonHodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis this past September at 21 years old, as a senior in college. Because of her support I am killing chemotherapy treatments & even made it through this semester of college without having to withdraw. I wish there were more nurses like her!!

Amanda Clough, Nurse, Complete Care (Toms River)
