What’s New Jersey’s Most Iconic Pie?
If you live in New Jersey it will be very likely that you will love the choice one website made for New Jersey's most iconic pie.
The website Daily Meal recently chose each state's most iconic pie. And what better time of year to talk about it, after all, it is pie season. So which pie took the cake (sorry, I couldn't resist) for the Garden State?
It turns out their choice for us is more like pizza than an apple, cherry or pumpkin pie. But we know it's not technically a pizza. Its the tomato pie. Now that is a choice we can all live with.
So, it turns out the origins of the tomato pie is attributed to many places including Italy, Philadelphia and Trenton. But whoever came up with it, and wherever they were. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
And by the way, if you are originally from one of our neighboring states, we should mention that New York's most iconic pie was listed as cheesecake (of course, but is that a pie?) and Pennsylvania's favorite... shoofly pie.
