Why Red Bank is So Beautiful
There is nothing like a springtime evening (except for maybe a summer night) strolling around downtown Red Bank.
It's one of the towns where my teen boys and I can all agree to hang out together.
Last evening we spent some time there. Christopher was taking photos for a project while Benjamin rehearsed with one of his groups for an upcoming performance. I walked around and took a couple photos of my own.
Christopher commented on how happy everyone was. No matter which park, waterfront, or street we walked down, people were friendly and chatty and there were lots of canine friends out for a walk, too. The weather was just perfect for making everyone smile.
It was just one of those sweet, low-key evenings. And, although I love the ocean and boardwalks at the Jersey Shore, sometimes a stroll along the river at Marine Park and Riverside Gardens Park is just as incredible.
We found delicious bubble tea at JJ Delicacies on West Front St., saw some amazing cars like a $150,000 Tesla on White Street and a 2.5 million (yes!) Bugati parked on Broad Street (does anyone know who drives that??!!), and we watched the sun set over the water.
I also love how many sides of buildings are painted with fabulous murals. There is some great free art to look at!
I am looking forward to the opening of the ice cream parlor next to Riverside Gardens Park and a meal or two at Boondocks (opening May 15th for the season), where you can sit out on the water and eat yummy seafood. I also discovered so many other outdoor dining spots and decks that I still have to try!
What's your favorite thing to do in Red Bank? I'll tell you one thing Asbury Park should start doing that Red Bank does: FREE PARKING on Sundays!
