It's official, the Jersey Shore is in the Christmas home stretch. The big day is a mere two weeks from today.

There are some clear signs around the Jersey Shore that it's crunch time, so we thought we would look at some of the things that inevitably happen at the Jersey Shore this time of year.

(1) Those Christmas traffic nightmares like Route 35 in Sea Girt, Route 9 in Freehold, Route 70 in Brick, Routes 35 and 36 in Eatontown, Route 66 in Neptune, Hooper Ave. in Toms River, Brick Blvd. in Brick and about 100 other places.

(2) The mall parking lot spot game. Cars follow slowly behind you as you walk to your car trying to grab your spot, or cars screech around corners when they see someone near a car to try to beat you to the spot.

(3) Supermarket insanity. If you can even find a spot in that parking lot, you are in for a battle for position on what you hope is the shortest of those very long lines. And it's never not busy there, from now until December 26th.

Holiday crunch time at the Jersey Shore can test the calmest among us. We all know what the spirit of the season is, and we'd like to keep it, but it would help if we could just find an occasional parking spot.

So, good luck, Jersey Shore, in the stretch run. It's not easy, but it is worth it!
