We tested your knowledge of Monmouth County history yesterday with another edition of Name The Monmouth County town.

How did you do. Let's recap. Here are the clues we gave you yesterday...

In 1872, this town was known as Ocean Beach

The first hotel in this town was called the Ocean Beach House (1873)

It was known as “The City of Elco” for a month in 1889  before getting the name it now has.

I was going to add the clue that the current name of the town means "beautiful sea" in French, but I thought that would really make it too easy. if you don't know by now, the correct answer is BELMAR.
