Who knew food would ever make you think?

During one of my recent broadcasts at the New Jersey Natural Gas Asbury Park Boardwalk Studio, I learned of a brand new, nonprofit food truck that JUST opened.

Food for Thought by the Sea, one of the nonprofits behind this new truck, has a very admirable cause that directly relates:

Food for Thought by the Sea provides a platform for nonprofit collaboration to improve underserved communities in Monmouth County and beyond.

It is called Food Truck for Thought By The Sea and it would not be possible without the financial support of New Jersey Natural Gas.

Their food premise is genius.

The menu is filled with refreshing and healthy options because who wants to eat hot food after being at the beach all day?

Plus, the materials used to put the food in is all sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Myself and Thomas Hayes of New Jersey Natural Gas got to try the chicken lettuce wraps. It consisted of a cool mixture of chicken, quinoa, veggies and this delicious pineapple salsa. (AKA: The perfect beach grub)

They will be set up near 1607 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park every weekend from now until Labor Day Weekend.

But wait, there is more to this story.

This mobile kitchen will also give teenagers the chance to work on the truck for hands-on experience in the food industry that they otherwise would have not been exposed to.

The hope is to prepare them for future career opportunities. Training areas will include front-of-house operations, product sourcing and food preparation.

There are so many amazing aspects to this new food truck.

But the most important? The delicious food so give them a try this weekend after you hit the beach!

After you hit the beach, how about dinner and a show?
