How many times do you get to look at your kids on a February weekend and say, "Wanna go to the beach?"

We actually split our weekend between enjoying the boardwalks and strolling through Red Bank....both such fun things to do on a spring-like holiday weekend.

Jenkinson's Boardwalk reached a record volume of guests on Sunday with tons of families out enjoying themselves in the crazy warm weather. (We saw readings of 70 degrees in Belmar, but officials say we didn't break any heat records because we would have had to top 71 degrees to do so.)

We spent much of Saturday afternoon on the Belmar boardwalk, with hardly a free parking space to be found, lots of folks bringing their dogs to run around in the sand, and the kiddie parks packed with kids in bare feet enjoying the sand between their toes and the pirate ships, slides and swings.

Playa Bowls is always yummier when you can sit outside and enjoy it! Lots of folks were also grabbing ice cream and hot dogs and sitting out on Ocean Avenue just watching the parade of pricey cars with loud engines that people were bringing out -- tops down, of course.

And music was playing as people strolled the streets of Red Bank Sunday...til way past dark. What would usually be a winter coat-hat-scarf-and-gloves kind of weekend was just a blessing of sunshine and heat instead. Loved every minute of it!

What did you do over the holiday weekend?
