If you believe the long range forecast for the upcoming winter at the Jersey Shore, you can expect some lower than normal temperatures.

The lower temperatures are more likely to be around in December as weather.com puts us in the Near or Slightly Below Average area of the U.S.A., so expect a bit of a chilly start to winter.

The news is a little better for January though, as the Garden State is safely in the Near or Slightly Above Average temperature section of the country. The article did not mention long range outlooks for February.

On the other hand, accuweather.com suggests that we are in for some stormy winter weather. We are in the section of their long range map called Frequent Storms, not an area we were hoping to be in. One of their meteorologist suggests,"the northeast is going to see more than just a few, maybe several, systems in the course of the season." Yikes.

We will continue to keep you updated and remember you can get all the weather info you need 24/7 from our meteorologist Dan Zarrow.
