How Much Rain Did Your Town Get With Yesterday’s Storms?
As predicted, yesterday's weather featured strong winds, torrential downpours and flooding at the Jersey Shore, so how much rain did we actually get?
The NJ Weather & Climate Network keeps track of statistics just like that, so we checked to see their rainfall totals for towns around the Jersey Shore, and here are some of the numbers we found.
The bottom line...the Jersey Shore got pounded with a huge amount of rainfall in a short amount of time, causing flooding problems in places that are prone to flooding and even areas that usually don't get flooded.
Here are some of yesterday's rain totals for Jersey Shore towns...
Toms River 3.77 inches
Point Pleasant 3.56 inches
Seaside Heights 3.19 inches
Sea Girt 3.08 inches
Wall Township 2.18 inches
Howell 1.12 inches
Those are some amazing numbers, but if you're looking for the silver lining associated with the day of really bad weather we endured, it's that Dan Zarrow says we're in for a series of sunny days with low humidity.
