Listen, I totally get it. The well-known spots like Johnny Mac's and Biergarten that have been around for what seems like forever can be hard to compete with.
You may have just as good of a food menu, service, and beer variety but getting your name out there is probably one of the hardest first steps of opening up and maintaining a business.
Well there are plenty of underrated towns at the Jersey Shore with superb cuisine no matter what your favorites are. Take a look!

Old Glory Kitchen & Spirits - a former church converted into a restaurant/bar
Drew's Bayshore Bistro - you must stop here for the Cajun-influenced American fare

Mike's Giant Sized Submarine - you think you could finish one whole sub in one sitting?

**All these spots are all located on Main Street so feel free to restaurant hop**
Del Ponte's Bakery - you may have to wipe the drool from your face because this location stocks cakes, donuts, pastries, and the biggest biscotti collection at the Jersey Shore
Vic's Italian Restaurant - their thin crusted pizza is a must-try.
The Buttered Biscuit - their Copenhagen egg Benedict for breakfast will start you day off on the perfect foot.
