Nothing says summertime to me like a nice cold glass of sangria...this is my personal recipe, and like most things I make, is a recipe that can be played around with to suit your taste!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle pinot noir
  • 1.5 oz. triple sec
  • 1.5 oz. blackberry brandy
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 limes, sliced
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • club soda or sprite (optional)

Add the fruit to the bottom of the pitcher, next add the sugar, triple sec, and brandy, and give a quick stir. Pour in the entire bottle of wine, and stir well until the sugar is well dissolved.

I taste it at this point and see what it needs. Sometimes I add a little more blackberry brandy or sugar if I think it needs it.

To serve, add a few frozen strawberries and frozen mango chunks to a glass, and fill with sangria. Some people like it a little bubbly or sweeter, so add a splash of club soda or sprite if you feel so inclined.

Dangerously good.

Switch it up:

Use white wine instead of red. (I'd go with a riesling or pinot grigio)
Add different fruit! Throw in some fresh sliced peaches, pineapple, blueberries, grapes, bananas, or cherries.
Use a different flavored brandy.

*Please drink responsibly.*
