New Coffee House in Ocean Grove
Just a block from the beach on the main drag in Ocean Grove is a wonderful addition to the community.
It's called Odyssey Coffee, and it opened recently at 50 Maine Ave. in Ocean Grove. It's open daily from 7 am - 4 pm.
This place has a warm atmosphere, delicious coffee, and really has been bringing the community together to gather, chat, read, study, and hang out. Or to enjoy some early-morning quiet time over a hot cup of coffee. There is some wonderful artwork being displayed, and I personally love the window seating to people-watch.
In a beach town where it's hard to find much life during the winter, especially early in the morning, this is a really nice place to have open.
Odyssey Coffee serves top notch coffee, espresso, and tea - and, in their words, the Jersey Shore’s freshest, most tastiest baked wonders. If you have the time, they even invite you to stay put with your face in a book.That's my kind of place!
A message from the family who owns it (mom and dad have three young boys) says this:
"Hey there.
We’re the Lipps - Joey, Shanna, Isaac, Hayden, Eli. After summering in OG for 14 years, as of June 2018 we’re here to stay (from Columbus, Ohio).
And we’ve built a coffeehouse for OG."
So why did they choose to open this shop? I love their 3-part answer:
- Because the feel of a vigorous cafe is magical.
- Because (hot, black) coffee (any time of day) is a supreme human good.
- And because - let’s raise our kids in a town with a coffeehouse.
