The Grand Opening event won't take place until next month, but right now volunteers are needed to help get pets adopted!

Pick Your Paw, a non-profit dedicated to finding forever homes for the dogs they rescue, is taking the place of the spot where the Monmouth County SPCA used to be on the lower level of Freehold Raceway Mall next to Sears.

Their 'soft opening' is this Sunday, Dec. 2nd (doors will open at  11 am), with Grand Opening festivities once they are up to speed set for January 5th.

Pick Your Paw's co-founders remind us that they are all unpaid volunteers who love animals and want to save their lives and match them with loving homes. Therefore, they are asking anyone who also feels this way and is interested in volunteering to staff the new location to please email or call 908-433-1796.

Pick Your Paw's new website is under renovation, but in the meantime you reach out to them or follow them on Facebook.

Best of luck to Heather, Tammy, and all of the great volunteers who are doing so much to save doggie lives and find them the warm home and love that they deserve!
