I took a ride with through Belmar with Diane after our visit to Kelly's yesterday morning. I hadn't been there since Gov.Christie's press conference at the groundbreaking. Seeing the new boardwalk work made me proud of the Jersey Shore's strength.

There is certainly a lot of work ahead, but progress is certainly being made. There is also a lot of work ahead for so many people along the Jersey Shore who are just trying to get there life back in order.

For those who have been able to begin the work, I wish you the best of luck, and for those who haven't had that opportunity yet, I hope you get the help you need and deserve very quickly, because in my mind this rebuilding is not complete until every one of our neighbors is back to some type of normalcy.

Any progress, to me, is a good sign, and seeing the progress at the Belmar boardwalk made me feel good. After touring the devastation not long after the storm, and seeing it now, I certainly feel better. Lilttle by little, we'll get there.
