Pumpkin Pie Martini – Cocktail of the Week
Cold, rainy, gray...a day like this calls for a sweet fall treat to brighten our spirits(pun intended)!
Pumpkin pie martinis have become more popular recently, and like many cocktails, there are different ways to make them.
While many recipes call for pumpkin-flavored liqueurs or syrups, I prefer to use real pumpkin in mine, as I find the flavor to be more authentic, but to each his own!
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. vanilla vodka
- 1 oz. licor 43
- 1 oz. cream
- 1.5 oz. (3 tbls) pumpkin pie filling (OR pureed pumpkin + pumpkin pie spice + sugar)
- crushed graham crackers, for garnish
- whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
Rim a frosted martini glass with crushed graham crackers, using a bit of cream (or water) to make them stick.
Combine remaining ingredients and shake well over ice. Strain into the glass, top with a bit of whipped cream (optional) and sprinkle a couple more graham cracker crumbs on top.
Enjoy!
