Shapiro's New York Deli opened on Friday at 51 Broad Street, formerly occupied by ChikyBoom, and before that, No Joe's Cafe.

When I spoke to co-owner Susan Shapiro about the restaurant back in September, she told me they'll be offering deli staples, breakfast favorites, and more.

The 'more' certainly refers to the 'Special Sammys' section of the menu which offers unique combos like The Sage, which is 'brisket topped with gravy and homemade Mac 'n Cheese, grilled on seeded rye.'

They even have a roasted vegetable sandwich with 'avocado schmear' called The Susan.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays for winter, but otherwise open Sunday to Wednesday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday to Saturday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
