I woke up Saturday morning knowing I had some shopping left to do. I decided to go for it on the last weekend before Christmas.

It was an interesting decision because with my work schedule, I could get to the stores on the remaining weekdays before Christmas while  most people are still at work. I decided to get right in the middle of it instead and I'm glad I did.

There is no doubt that the stores were packed and the parking lots were literally nearly full, so when I finally found a spot, I began to wonder if I had made a mistake. But when I got into the stores, I found a pleasant surprise.

People were being nice to each other, holding doors open for people, joking with each other on line and generally feeling the holiday spirit. I must admit, it surprised me because with a the Christmas pressure on, the clock ticking and the big crowds, things certainly could have been a lot different.

Now, I'm not sure if that feeling continued through the day or weekend, but for the people I encountered during Saturday morning shopping I say congratulations on keeping it together when the pressure was on!
