As the first official day of winter approaches for the the Jersey Shore, so does the distinct possibility of single digit temperatures as we get closer to the weekend.

We'll sneak a couple of days, today and tomorrow (Tuesday and Wednesday) with daytime highs in the mid 40's before another blast of arctic air hits on Thursday, with gusty winds and a high only in the mid 20's expected, according to meteorologist Dan Zarrow.

Friday morning is going to be when we get the single digit temperatures, with wind chills making it feel like below zero. Friday's daytime high will only be in the mid 20's. It's time to bundle up as we experience the coldest weather of the season so far at the Jersey Shore.
