Snow removal (or lack thereof) can be a frustrating thing.

I know we're all itching to get out after being trapped in the house because of the crazy blizzard.  But that can be difficult when the roads aren't plowed or salted.

Today and over the weekend, I saw so many people who were unhappy with the condition of the roads in Ocean County.  Let me tell you, I empathize completely.

This open letter isn't to shame or blame anyone criticizing the roads, because if I were to do that, let's face it: I'd be a total hypocrite.  How many times have you walked out of your house and audibly sighed at the fact that you were still surrounded by mountains of snow?  (Like our very own Sue Moll who took the photo below.)

But, it is important to practice some compassion for the people who are plowing the roads.  Listen - we're all just doing the best we can.  They're probably following a route given to them that they had no say in.  These people are working long hours in actual freezing weather conditions.

So yes, while you do have the right to be annoyed that the roads aren't perfect, and you do have the right to be concerned about driving on roads with safe conditions, it's important that you express those feelings to the right people.

Instead of getting angry with the people who are working hard to keep us safe, voice your concerns with your township.

And to all the workers who were out tirelessly plowing this weekend, thank you for all you do!  Ocean County appreciates your hard work.

we could use a plow here - check out your snowy pics from this weekend!
