Monthly Stimulus Checks Being Discussed For New Jersey But It’s Not What You Are Hoping For
If I had a nickel for every time I heard the word "stimulus" the past year, I would never need to work again.
But yes, there is talk of yet another stimulus check...but it is not the same type of stimulus checks we've all come to rely on throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a new act being suggested...the Sending Unconditional Payments to People Overcoming Resistances to Triumph (SUPPORT) act which calls for guaranteed incomes for people who make less than a certain amount for year.
But let me just get this out of the way: No. There is no talk of sending out a 4th stimulus check because of the "continued improvement of the economy." Uh huh...OKAY!!!
Anyways....
For those who have an annual salary that falls below the threshold, they will receive an additional $1,200 every month along with an additional $600 per child.
It makes sense when you think about it.
There are tons of people who work full time at jobs that pay no more than $15/hour. Even when working overtime, that pay check barely covers the cost of living in an expensive state like New Jersey.
And you know there are a lot of people working two or three jobs nonstop to make ends meet and if they have kids on top of it? Forget about it...
That is why a lot of people have been pushing for a higher, more livable minimum wage.
The minimum wage has increased slowly but surely but if this new program gets passed, it will take some of the pressure off because as the wage goes up, businesses have to adapt and adjust spending.
If -- and that is a strong if -- this program gets passed, it won't be put into action for a little while.
If given the green light, a pilot program would test out this new system in different communities from 2023 to 2027.
If all goes well, this program will go nationwide in 2028. (Ugh...7 years. I know...BUMMER!)
Here is the breakdown being proposed:
Adults who make $75,000 or less would receive these monthly checks.
Adults who make $112,000 per year or less when filing taxes as the head of household would also qualify because that salary is the total income for the household.
Families who qualify would also receive an extra $600 per child and this would include undocumented immigrants and people.
Am I on board with this? Yes. I am just super bummed that it will take a few years to actually get it going because people are desperate for the money NOW! Umm....YES!
"Go to college," people say.
"Get a better job," people say.
Guess what that takes? MONEY! So unless if you have walked in someone's shoes, I would take a lock because I know 1000% that I would not be where I am without the help and financial backing of my parents.
Take a look at all the information and decide for yourself.
