The kids will pick up all the basics like how to cast, tie knots, choose the right lures and bait, and even how to "read" a beach to figure out where the fish are most likely to be.

Learn Surf Fishing This Summer

The National Park Service and the American Littoral Society are working together to help kids build new skills, teaching kids surf fishing on Sandy Hook

All skill levels are welcome, and rods, reels, and tackle will be provided for you. Children aged 10 to 16 are welcome with a supervising adult.

And make sure you pack a lunch or bring some snacks. Also, parents must bring a copy of their NJ Saltwater Registry License.
