Lots of people turn to Trip Advisor when they're making plans, so we thought it would be interesting to find out the top thing to do in 5 of our local towns. So we randomly picked these 5 towns...Brick, Freehold, Point Pleasant Beach, Red Bank and Belmar to find out what the world known website suggests for those places. Think you can guess each one?

Let's find out if we agree with Trip Advisor's suggestions for each town listed above, with a 10 score being a complete agreement and a 0 being "have you ever been here?  Here we go.

Brick...Trip Advisor chose the Brick Reservoir as their top choice, and that's a pretty tough one to argue with. It's a beautiful place and it's beloved by the community. This one gets a solid 9.

Freehold...Trip Advisor's choice for the county seat for 2021 is Turkey Swamp Park. It's a great, great park, but there is a lot to do in Freehold. Further down the list is Freehold Raceway, Freehold Raceway Mall and iPlay Ameica. Still we have to give Turkey Swamp Park a 7.

Point Pleasant Beach... It's a sweep according to Trip Advisor and the top 2 is all about Jenk's. The #1 thing to do in town is Jenkinson's Boardwalk, followed closely at #2 by Jenkinson's Aquarium. And by the way, Point Pleasant Beach is at #3. This one gets a 10 from us.

Red Bank...This one gets a 10 from us, too because one of our favorite places was placed at #1. The top thing to do in Red Bank according to Trip Advisor is a stop at the Basie! Always a great choice.

Belmar...It's an obvious answer, but it's the right one in my opinion. The Belmar beach and boardwalk are Trip Advisor's choice with Beah Haus Brewery a close second. We have to give these choices a 10 as well.

It's not like we don't know what to do around here. I mean, we are locals. But it is nice to see what the experts are saying and see if we agree.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
