200 Atlantic City, NJ Kids Treated to Free Day at Water Park
It was a refreshing day at Island Water Park in Atlantic City on Tuesday for 200 kids who got to enjoy a free day of riding and sliding.
Showboat Atlantic City owner Bart Blatstein teamed up with the Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. joined forces to treat the youth to a visit to the water park. Blatstein even opened Island Water Park early on Tuesday so the kids could have it all to themselves.
The outing was part of Atlantic City’s free ‘Great Day’ Summer Camp, and the mayor participated, too!
In a statement, Director of Atlantic City Youth Services Christina Noble expressed her excitement about the children getting to experience the shore town's first-ever water park, saying, “This is a great way to celebrate a successful summer program and have a little fun before the summer ends. We’re just happy to give these kids this opportunity they may not have otherwise had.”
Blatstein also seemed please, saying, “[The kids] all seem to really be enjoying the experience, and the Mayor and I are already discussing similar events like this for the future.”
Now in its second year, ‘Great Day’ Summer Camp is a collaboration between Atlantic City Youth Services and AC Rec that offers a free, six-week summer program for the city's kids.
