I'm a big sports fan and I can tell you this. We're very lucky to have the Lakewood BlueClaws in our backyard.

As you know, I'm a huge Mets fan, but even on the best night, I'm not exactly in the mood to travel to Flushing, Queens, deal with parking and pay the ridiculous prices for tickets and food that you find at CitiField. I'm sure Yankees fans know what I'm talking about, too.

All you want to do is go out with the family, have a fun night, see some good baseball and spend time at a place that keeps your family in mind, and not have to spend a million bucks to accomplish this, or travel two hours to get there.

Enter the Lakewood BlueClaws and First Energy Park. I can't tell you how many times I've been there, saw a great game and eliminated all the hassles usually associated with getting out to a ballgame. And hearing the kids cheering and having a great time is always a wonderful thing. And who doesn't love Buster?

I'm glad the BlueClaws have quickly become a part of the fabric of a true Jersey Shore summer. The Jersey Shore - beaches, boardwalks and baseball. Hey, that kind of has a ring to it.
