Cool New Oil & Vinegar Bar in Asbury

Talk about hands-on...you can have such a great experience with tastings, pairings and shopping in this great new place!

Food Lube, 658 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park (the front store inside the Shoppes at the Arcade) opened a little over a month ago, and this is our second time stopping by.

Food Lube is a fine olive oil and vinegar bar that won't disappoint If you are looking to excite your palette or for an awesome gift idea. If you love salads or cooking and want to add some new, exciting flavors to your recipes...or if you just want to shop for some unusual and awesome items for you and your friends, you should check out this place!

I love supporting new, local businesses and this one is fantastic. The atmosphere alone makes you want to walk in the door.

There are walls of imported olive oils from Italy, Spain, etc. Each oil has a description of where it is from, when it was pressed, and notes about its flavor profile.

Then there are the incredible vinegar flavors...and a million different mix-and-match pairings of oil and vinegar that you can try combining to create something that is just right for your taste buds. You can even adjust the amounts of each so that they are perfect for you!

There are beautiful bottles and packaging for gift-giving, and, best of all, you can sample hundreds of them right there in the store, dipped in some delicious bread that Food Lube provides.

In addition to all of that, Food Lube also has for sale some awesome other gourmet food items, including jars and bottles for storing your oils and vinegars, other kitchen ware, and a beautiful selection of hand-carved natural olive wood products from Tunisia! Gorgeous bowls and cutting boards and more, that you find you just want to reach out and touch because the wood is absolutely stunning and smooth!

AND they even have lotions and soaps made with olive oil! So many interesting and unusual things all made with or from olive oil and olive trees.

And the owners are so welcoming, friendly and helpful...always a big plus in my book!
