There are only scattered power outages this morning due to yesterday's nasty storms that came through the area.

Many parts of our area were slammed by those nasty afternoon storms yesterday, and some towns had it worse than others, like Toms River. But despite that, the number of power outages reported is surprisingly low.

A check of JCP&L's Power Outage Map shows that there are only just under 250 customers dealing with outages this morning in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and after that weather yesterday, that seems like a surprisingly low number.

There are minor outages in the Toms River, Point Pleasant Beach, Asbury Park and Freehold area among others, but no widespread outages are being reported so far this morning.

Fortunately, Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow is calling for a calmer day today, but more heavy rain is in our forecast for tomorrow afternoon and evening. Stay up to date on that and all the weather info for New Jersey with Dan Zarrow's blog.

And let's take this opportunity to thank all those essential personnel who are getting out there each day to make sure we are all able to get through this together. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
