It's time to play "Name That Jersey Shore Town". This time around we focus on Monmouth County.

Lets start with some clues about this Shore town...

A carpenter was the first to purchase the land.

It was named after that landowner's hometown in England (minus an 'e')

The Turnpike is now an Avenue

I'd have to say this is one of the more challenging Name The Town's we've done. The last clue is a reference to a road first built in the early 1700's, but the name of the town is included in the name of the road, so we had to leave it out of the clue.

And if you can figure out who the carpenter is and where he was born., you've pretty much got it. So take your best shot at this round of Name the Jersey Shore Town, and we'll make sure to post the official answer tomorrow morning.
