New Jersey and high property taxes are no strangers to each other, and the past year was certainly no exception.

According to a report at nj.com, the average New Jersey taxpayer had to dig deep in 2015, paying an average of over $8300 last year, which is nearly $200 more than 2014.  By percentage, it's the largest increase in the past 4 years, according to the article.

That annual number may not shock you if you've lived in the Garden State for any length of time, but it probably should. Have you ever mentioned your property taxes to someone from out of state? Just watch that jaw drop.

No one ever said it was cheap to live here in New Jersey. I literally mean no one has ever said that...in history. But at least there's Powerball to dream of. If you happen to win, that might cover you for a few months or so.
