Pier 1 announced that they will be closing up to 450 stores BUT they have been very reluctant to reveal which locations they will be closing. So I have a theory.

First, here is what we know so far...

Pier 1 stores that are located in East Hanover, Edgewater, Paramus, and at the Cape May Court House will be closing.

Managers from the Pier 1 stores located in Bridgewater, Clifton, Deptford, Hamilton, Jersey City, Paramus (Route 17), Riverdale, Rockaway and Woodbridge have confirmed that their stores will remain open for business.

However....whenever anyone has reached out to the managers of Pier 1 stores at the Jersey Shore...no one can confirm or deny anything.

This includes the Pier 1 stores located in Freehold, Manasquan, Manahawkin, Holmdel, and Toms River.

**UPDATE -- According to Joann McClure's comment on Facebook, the Howell location is definitely closing but the rest of the Jersey Shore locations are safe for now... Let's hope she is right!

So here is what I am thinking...Pier 1 is going store by store to see just how much revenue each location is pulling in.

Then slowly but surely, they will close the 450 stores that perform the worst throughout the entire country.

My guess is that they are still in the middle of this process and these Jersey Shore Pier 1 stores are still on the chopping block.

We will, of course, keep you updated once we have any news but just be aware your time to shop at Pier 1 may be much more limited than you think.
