It's Sauvignon Blanc Day, a day to celebrate my favorite white wine...and one that's apparently a bit of an acquired taste.

Fear not, this drink will ease you in and open your eyes to the yum that is SauvBlanc!

First things first, don't be embarrassed about pronouncing it! It looks harder to say than it is: So-vin-YAWN blahnk.

Unlike buttery Chardonnays and mild Pinot Grigios, Sauvignon Blancs are dry, citrusy, and super refreshing.

It's my go-to wine for seafood dishes or summery salads...like one with goat cheese and a lemony vinaigrette (but that's a recipe for a future blog...)

I LOVE Matua's SB, and am also a big fan of SeaGlass's, but try a few to see which ones you really like!

This light, flavorful punch will have you celebrating all weekend long...and not minding that last weekend's 70 degree temps apparently took a long vacation.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. Sauvignon Blanc
  • 1 oz. vodka (optional)
  • 1 oz. peach schnapps
  • 1 oz. ruby red grapefruit juice
  • fresh peach slice, to garnish (optional)

Combine all ingredients with ice, and serve in a wine glass, mason jar, or whatever makes you happy! Easy!

Use more or less of any of the ingredients to suit your tastes. (I'd definitely recommend making a big ol' pitcher of this using 1 bottle of SB, and 1 cup each of vodka, peach schnapps, and grapefruit juice!)

Enjoy!

*Please drink responsibly.*
