Tiramisu Martini – Cocktail of the Week
One of my very favorite desserts is tiramisu (can you tell I'm Italian?), so this week, why not turn it into a cocktail?
The Tiramisu Martini is super easy to make, and can be made booze-free for the teetolalers (and kids like me who ALWAYS had to have what mom was having.)
The boozy version features Rumchata, a sweet cream liqueur with cinnamon and vanilla flavors. (Yummmmmy.)
Ingredients:
- 3 oz. Rumchata
- 1 oz espresso vodka
- 1 oz. cooled espresso (optional)
- cinnamon (to garnish)
- dark chocolate curls (to garnish)
- ladyfinger cookie (to garnish)
Mix the Rumchata, espresso vodka. and cooled espresso over ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon, some dark chocolate curls, and a ladyfinger cookie.
To make a non-alcoholic version, mix 3 oz. milk or cream, a couple of drops of rum extract (non-alcoholic versions are available), 1/8 tsp. vanilla extract, a dash or two of cinnamon, and 2 oz. cooled coffee or espresso (use decaf for the kids!). Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass, and garnish.
Switch it up:
Use more or less of each ingredient to suit your taste.
Rim the glass with dark chocolate syrup instead of using chocolate curls.
Make it extra chocolatey by adding some clear creme de cacao.
Use more cooled espresso and less espresso vodka for a weaker drink.
