St. Patrick's Day (weekend) is here, and sure, you could celebrate with a pint of Guinness or a shot of Jameson, but for those looking for a sweeter treat, make yourself a Drunken Shamrock Shake!

I recommend this as a blended drink, but there are plenty of ways to switch up this week's cocktail!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz vanilla vodka
  • .5 oz green creme de menthe
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • .5 oz of milk
  • Whipped cream (to garnish)
  • Mint sprig (to garnish)

Add the first 4 ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth. If you want a thicker shake, add some ice cubes...if you want it thinner, add more milk. Serve in a tall glass. Garnish with whipped cream and a mint sprig (and of course a straw!)

Switch it up:

Really celebrate Ireland by using Irish whiskey instead of vodka.
Use mint chocolate chip ice cream instead of vanilla.
Leave out the ice cream and just use milk and ice for a thinner drink. (You could also make the drink this way without the blender, by just shaking it with ice and straining into a cocktail glass.)

Another great green cocktail: The Thin Mint Martini! Whatever you drink this weekend, green or not, have fun and be safe!

*Please drink responsibly.*
