When Your Family’s Asking What’s For Dinner, Try This Place

Have you been to Monmouth Meats in Red Bank? It's my new favorite place for picking up dinner!

For years I went to Monmouth Meats for the BEST sandwiches when my son (who would be across the street from Monmouth Meats taking classes at The Basie) would need lunch -- he's a huge fan of their Cubano sandwich. Actually, all of their sandwiches and Italian heroes are amazing...plus their salads and soups!

But I never stopped to think: I could be planning my dinner meals for the family around everything this place has to offer!

So yesterday I decided to stop in and see Stu to explore what I could bring home to cook for dinner.

Monmouth Meats (112  Monmouth St. in Red Bank) is a full-service, old-fashioned, award-winning  butcher shop,meat market and deli that has been a family tradition for decades. The whole time I was in there, Stu was greeting families as they picked up their cuts of USDA Prime and Choice meats (so many to choose from that I wanted one of everything!)

I even asked one dad, who was purchasing a fridge-full for his family of four (soon to be 5!) for the week, what his favorites were and that's when I decided on the (giant) pork chops. He even told me what spice rub (because there were so many to choose from) he recommended.

Boy did I look like supermom after cooking up these beauties for my boys. It was a delicious meal (the meat was so fresh, cooked up perfectly and was mouth-watering, thick and juicy.) Knowing that this is a place where so many families go to shop for the best fully prepared meals or fresh cuts of meat, and seeing the kids running around while mom or dad choose what's for dinner, just warms my heart.

I adore supporting local businesses like this one, that has been around for years and has such a great reputation.

Whether it's cooked/ prepared chicken cutlets, thick slabs of bacon for Sunday morning breakfast, salads, fresh produce, or meatballs for your ravioli, this is a wonderful place to bring home the fixings for dinner. (And they cater.)
